Still attempting to update this thing haha

A lot of stuff has happened at youth group lately! So here is an update for all of those who haven't been there, or for all of those who want to know :)

This Sunday during Sunday school there will be a missions trip presentation from the group that went on the mission trip to Ohio. ALL YOUTH THAT ATTENDED THE MISSIONS TRIP ARE REQUIRED TO BE THERE! Please be there by 9:15! The presentation will be in the sanctuary. All youth should be prepared to share a memory or something from the trip :)

Also on this Sunday (the 30th)...we are having our fifth Sunday lunch. The youth are required to stay after and help clean up since the money collected during the lunch will be donated to help the youth go on the trip in January.

Speaking of the trip in January...we are going to Pigeon Forge, TN over Martin Luther King Jr. weekend. This is a 3 day convention that the youth will be attending that is focusing on standing up for your faith and having nothing to lose if you have God. I think that this convention will be very beneficial for each youth of all ages, no matter where they are in their walk with God. The only reasons we would not go on this trip will be if weather does not allow us. Since Martin Luther King Jr. day is usually a make up day for schools, a lot of the youth may not be able to attend, so we will just play it by ear. I really hope the trip works out though. The youth will be having many opportunities to raise money for the trip, including a possible future benefit concert put on by the youth praise band.

The youth leader search committee is still working hard to post the job description and get things together to start looking for the best candidate for the youth leader. Please keep the search committee, the youth, and the church in your prayers so God provides the best fit for the position.

The youth will be having a Halloween party at Maddie Smith's house since Halloween is on a Wednesday this year. More information to come.

The youth will also be going to Indy sometime within the next couple months and handing out cookies and hot chocolate/lemonade to the homeless. If you would be interested in donating homemade cookies, let us know!

Please continue to pay attention to the papers and different things for updates on sports around the area. A lot of youth are involved and many are excelling in their sports! I am so proud of all of them.

The youth have been responding so well to my current lessons! If you ever want a copy of my lessons that are presented, let me know. Recent topics have included: listening to what God thinks about you, knowing you are worth it, and filling your life with things that matter.

Guess that is all for now. Hopefully I can be more faithful to updating this from now on!
